We lived through Y-2K, 2001 – the space odyssey, the Age of Aquarius, the Haley Bopp Comet, and other things (according to the “sooth sayers” that were to help usher in the End of the World.  People in panic went out and bought generators, bottled water, rice, gasoline, and put fences around their property to keep people from breaking in.

People are always trying to predict the date.  Matthew chapter 24 & 25, tell of things yet to come to pass before the end of the world (as we know it) comes to pass.

It has been predicted a lot – everything from blood moons, comets, to the turning of a century to religious men appearing on the scene making predictions.

The point of today’s message is not to point us to the end of the world rather today is the end of someone’s world.

In a recent trip to a cemetery, I couldn’t help but to notice there were a lot of babies there.  Their time had come.  Many have babies who live in heaven now.

James 4:14 reminds us – Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Our spirit is eternal, our bodies are temporal.  Our spirit lasts forever but our body does not.  The disciples and apostle Paul thought Jesus would return in their day.  Whether Jesus returns in my lifetime or if I die before He returns, it really doesn’t matter.  I will go to heaven either way!

Answers to Pray/ Prayer Requests

Scripture:  Matthew 24:1-13

Message: The End is Not Yet

(15) Lord I’m Coming Soon (253) 1, 2 & 3

Closing Prayer

Life is too short to waste it on things that do not satisfy.

If your life today consists of what you & I eat, or drink, what clothes you’ll wear or where you will live, you are living for the temporal.
