A Letter from the President

Friends of Keystone State Park is a nonprofit organization. We are many members and volunteers who are dedicated to the improvement of the park. This includes not only the protection of the natural beauty, helping with projects within the park to make the park better for everyone but promotion of the park. Several of the projects we have done include but not limited to: children’s playground, new flag pole, river bank remediation, replenishment of beach sand, pellet stove for bait shop, replacement of picnic tables and trail maintenance.

The park has several special places to be enjoyed. This includes a playground for children, a beach area and beach house with articles for purchase, hiking and jogging trails. There is also a bait shop with canoe/kayak rental offered. Near the beach area there are a canoe and kayak landing and a concession stand where you can quench your thirst or grab a bite to eat.

There are both rustic and modern camping facilities available as well as cabins to rent. Around the park there are picnic areas. There are pavilion rentals available and one with kitchen facilities. The Park has several modern restrooms.

The Friends group has four events we sponsor throughout the year to not only promote the park but help raise funds so we can continue to better the park for you. These events are an Easter Egg Hunt, an Angler Feed on the first day of Trout season, a Youth and Outdoor show for kids and their families in May and finally a Car Show in August. We hope to see you at one of these events.

We are always looking for more volunteers and members for our group. We welcome new members to bring new life to challenge us to find new ideas and suggestions for bettering the park. We can’t do it alone. Please join us in making Keystone State Park a better place to visit.

Keystone State Park has been voted one of the best parks in the area for families. (The park is also pet friendly!) The park is located at 1150 Keystone Park Road, Derry, PA, in Derry Township, Westmoreland County. We are 3 miles off US Route 22 and 3 miles east of Route 981.

Please feel free to contact us via the web at , email us at, on Facebook or send via mail at Friends of Keystone State Park, P.O. Box 126, New Alexandria, PA 15670. You may also contact me directly.
